Thinking Photography. DGPh-Forschungspreis / DGPh Research Award
Every two years, the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Photographie e.V. (German Photography Society, DGPh) awards a research prize to honour texts on photographic theory or history in collaboration with the Deutsche Börse Photography Foundation.
Young researchers’ innovative power and creativity have a significant impact on how photography is perceived and reflected upon. The prize honours lines of thought from the humanities as well as cultural and social sciences that make exceptional contributions to photography research. An international jury will determine the recipient of the 3000 Euro prize.
Writing Photography. DGPh-Preis für innovative Publizistik / DGPh Award for innovative Publication
Every two years, the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Photographie e.V. (German Photography Society, DGPh) awards a prize for innovative publications such as articles or essays in collaboration with the Deutsche Börse Photography Foundation.
The award focuses particularly on smaller formats such as blogs, columns and reviews, online publications and those creatively merging text and photographic material. An international jury will determine the recipient of the 1000 Euro prize.

DGPh-Prize of Science
Since 1966, the section "Science and Technology" of the DGPh has been awarding a prize for research in the field of photographic technology.
In the course of the restructuring of the DGPh awards, this prize will soon be redefined and renamed. This prize serves to recognise and promote young scientists and to encourage them to find scientific solutions to photographic problems. The prize is awarded for a completed work in the field of image science.
